100-year-old Warsaw Uprising veteran: Bąkiewicz and Braun are waiting for us to die
Stefan Meissner, a Warsaw Uprising veteran who turned 100 on 14 January 2026, says he fears that nationalist figures such as Robert Bąkiewicz and Grzegorz Braun are waiting for the last survivors to die so they can take over the Uprising's anniversary and turn it into a nationalist celebration. He says he never expected so many Poles to support nationalists.
