Climate crisis made Spain's extreme wildfire weather 20 times more likely

Scientists from the World Weather Attribution consortium calculated that global heating has made the hot, dry and windy conditions fuelling massive wildfires in Spain at least 20 times more likely. In France, similar conditions are now twice as likely due to climate change. The findings are the latest to directly link the burning of fossil fuels to Europe's deadly heatwaves and droughts.
