Elderly person dies after Vibrio infection in the Baltic Sea — Germany issues alert

Germany has recorded 14 Vibrio bacterial infections since the start of the year, one of which proved fatal for an elderly person. According to the Robert Koch Institute and the state health authority, the bacteria primarily affect older people holidaying on the Baltic coast. Health authorities are urging caution when bathing in the sea.
