Thought it was a cold — tick-borne encephalitis left her paralysed within hours
Iga Jastrzębska contracted tick-borne encephalitis whose symptoms were initially mistaken for a common cold. Within hours she was paralysed. After two years of intensive rehabilitation, she can now breathe independently, move her limbs and is gradually regaining the ability to communicate.
