Physicists disprove Feynman's decades-old theory on reverse sprinklers

Researchers have resolved a physics puzzle posed by Richard Feynman in the 1940s at Princeton: which way does a sprinkler spin if it sucks water in instead of spraying it out? Feynman claimed the reverse sprinkler barely moved at all, but the new study shows it actually rotates in the opposite direction to a normal sprinkler, albeit more weakly. The finding disproves Feynman's long-held interpretation of the phenomenon.
