34-year study: most premature babies thrive in their 30s — but one in five struggles

Researchers tracked the lives of people born very prematurely for 34 years and identified three distinct outcomes. The majority were doing well professionally, financially and socially in their 30s. However, nearly one in five experienced compounding difficulties, and a warning sign was visible as early as childhood.
