Anti-scam protections in online banking come at the cost of transaction freedom
The vast majority of online fraud culminates in a payment transfer — the critical moment that banks and regulators are trying to secure with new controls. Stronger anti-scam protections, however, mean fewer freedoms for ordinary online banking users. Who bears legal responsibility for transactions made under criminal manipulation remains a contested issue in Poland.
