Nolan's Odyssey buzz sends Snyder's Greek epic surging on streaming

Interestingly, Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder got their major studio breaks at around the same time, and the projects they were working on were both based on Ancient Greek myths. They would eventually go on to establish themselves in the superhero genre, and would even collaborate on the 2013 movie Man of Steel , directed by Snyder and executive-produced by Nolan. But back in the mid-2000s, they were just starting out in the business, having made a name for themselves with the breakout movies Memento (Nolan) and Dawn of the Dead (Snyder). After they caught the attention of studios, both filmmakers began working on major projects inspired by Greek mythology, and that, too, at the same studio, Warner Bros. While Nolan was given the opportunity to direct Troy , Snyder pitched a highly stylized adaptation of a classic Frank Miller comic book.
