Shingles vaccine may help prevent dementia, studies find

New research suggests that shingles infection may help trigger dementia, and that vaccination against shingles could therefore help prevent cognitive decline. Multiple studies have identified a link between the herpes zoster virus and increased dementia risk, pointing to a potential preventive role for existing vaccines.
