Cyclospora from Mexican iceberg lettuce sickens thousands of Americans

A growing number of Americans are falling ill with cyclospora, a parasitic infection causing severe diarrhoea, cramping stomach pain, loss of appetite, weakness and dehydration. The source of the outbreak has been traced to iceberg lettuce imported from central Mexico. Health authorities are warning consumers and tracking the scale of the outbreak.
