Cherry plums rot unpicked — turn them into a light, aromatic cake

Cherry plums (mirabelki), once commonly picked from housing estates and country roadsides across Poland, are now largely left to rot under trees. The fruits are rich in fibre and vitamin C. A cherry plum cake is described as a simple, light and aromatic bake that makes excellent use of this forgotten fruit.
