Senate health panel delays CDC nominee vote due to absent senators
The US Senate health committee has postponed until next week a vote on Erica Schwartz's nomination to lead the CDC, after too few senators showed up. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is dealing with a family emergency, and at least one other member was also absent. A separate vote on Sean Kaufman for a key public health preparedness role was also delayed.
