Orcas filmed ramming a sunfish until it explodes in the Gulf of California

In two incidents documented in Mexico's Gulf of California, orcas were filmed working together to ram and kill large ocean sunfish (Mola mola), striking them repeatedly until the carcasses exploded. Scientists suggest the behaviour may be a form of play or a way for adult orcas to teach juveniles. The footage captures a previously undocumented hunting strategy for the species.
