20-year study links frequent TV watching to brain shrinkage and higher dementia risk

An international team of scientists found in a 20-year study that frequent television viewing is associated with reduced volume in brain regions responsible for memory, potentially raising the risk of dementia. Notably, no such effect was observed for other sedentary activities. The findings suggest the issue is specific to TV-watching, not simply a sedentary lifestyle.
