Laura Maria Plichta Rode Solo Through the Himalayas on a Motorcycle

Polish traveller Laura Maria Plichta rode solo through the Himalayas on a motorcycle shortly after getting her licence. In Ethiopia, a chance encounter with local guide Tibeba led to a two-week motorcycle journey she had never planned. Plichta says she values the raw, physical experience of travel — wind, dust and flying stones — and wears her burn scars as souvenirs.
