Cyanobacteria Neurotoxins Found in Air and Desert Dust – New Health Risk
A new study has found that neurotoxins produced by cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) are not confined to water — they have also been detected in air and desert dust. Researchers say this substantially increases human exposure risk and the likelihood of related diseases. The discovery calls for a reassessment of current health risk evaluations associated with cyanobacteria.
