United Airlines to remove middle seats — economy class loungers from 2027

United Airlines has announced plans to eliminate middle seats in economy class on long-haul flights. From 2027, a so-called "relax row" featuring a sofa with extendable footrests will allow economy passengers to lie down. The upgrade is planned for more than 200 Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft.
