Supercell storm kills cyclist in Baden-Württemberg, Germany

A violent supercell thunderstorm swept through Baden-Württemberg in south-western Germany, bringing hurricane-force gusts, heavy rain and hailstones up to 5 cm in diameter. A cyclist was killed when a tree felled by the storm fell on him. Supercells are among the most dangerous storm types, characterised by a rotating updraft.
