Lublin Scientists Patent High-Protein, High-Fibre Black Seed Press-Cake Supplement

Scientists from Lublin have developed and patented a supplement made from black seed (nigella sativa) press cake — the by-product left after extracting oil from the seeds. The preparation is rich in protein and dietary fibre and was previously discarded as waste. The patent opens the door for use in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
