Honda Access launched new factory parts for the updated N-Box.

The Sporty Style package adds a racy feel to the N-Box Custom.

It complements the Active Leisure and Modern Casual Styles.

Shortly after Honda introduced an updated version of the third-generation N-Box, Honda Access, the automaker’s official accessories division, rolled out a catalog of optional upgrades for it.

The Sporty Style package is made for the N-Box Custom trim. Its large grille is split by a custom trim piece finished in Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, or Meteoroid Gray Metallic, working alongside a Berlina Black lower garnish. The real draw is elsewhere, where the decal set and mirror caps borrow from the Frame Red shade of the Civic Type R , lending the kei van a racier look.

The sportiest version of the kei van rides on a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels with four double spokes. Beyond the fresh look, these were developed using lessons pulled from the Modulo X series. Honda Access claims they function as an active part of the suspension, with a tuned balance of rigidity between the rim and the spokes that lets them flex under load to improve ride comfort and handling.

Honda N-Box Custom Sporty Style Package

The sporty package joins two existing styling kits in the Honda Access catalog for the kei van. The rugged Active Leisure Style is meant for the N-Box Joy, while the vintage Modern Casual Style works with the regular N-Box.

The Active Leisure adds a roof carrier, yellow and orange decals, a different grille with Honda lettering, two-color fog lights, a rear spoiler, a fuel lid garnish, black tailgate trim, and 14-inch alloy wheels finished in Berlina Black. Modern Casual takes a softer approach with Copper decals and mirror caps, fog lights wearing a Platinum White Pearl garnish, white alloys, and a wood-style floor mat.

Honda Access Interior Upgrades

Inside, the automaker fits a roof-mounted console with two built-in tissue box holders and a retractable sunshade. Buyers can also spec an 8-inch infotainment screen, a 12.8-inch rear entertainment monitor, a premium audio system, front and rear dashcams, LED ambient lighting, and floor mats treated to fight odor and bacteria.

Honda N-Box Joy Active Leisure Style

Because this is purely an aesthetic and functional accessory catalog, the mechanical setups remain untouched. The refreshed N-Box continues to be powered by a non-electrified 660cc three-cylinder engine in two flavors, delivering 58 hp (43 kW / 58 PS) in naturally-aspirated guise and up to 63 hp (47 kW / 64 PS) in turbocharged guise. Power is routed to either the front or all four wheels via a mandatory CVT.

The refreshed Honda N-Box went on sale in Japan last month, with prices ranging from ¥1,739,100 to ¥2,475,000 ($10,800 to $15,400).

Honda N-Box Modern Casual Style

In a pink-walled basement on Commercial Street, ScottCakes sells one item and nothing else: a golden butter cake under a swirl of pink vanilla buttercream. There are no rotating flavors, no seasonal specials, no coffee menu to round out the order. One cupcake, made one way, on purpose.

The single-minded devotion has an origin story to match. Scott Cunningham, a former actor and nanny, arrived in Provincetown in 2008 for a six-week theater engagement and stayed. He had baked these cupcakes for the children he once cared for, using a recipe adapted from a 1950s Better Homes & Gardens cookbook, and in 2009 he began selling them from a table on the street.

That’s when things got complicated. The town had granted Cunningham vending permits, then decided in 2010 they’d been issued in error — a zoning bylaw prohibited outdoor food sales. After a competitor complained, the building commissioner issued a cease-and-desist order, and police began ticketing him for selling cupcakes on the sidewalk. Rather than give up, Cunningham relocated his operation to the town’s former firehouse in partnership with the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod, donating a share of the proceeds. He contested the fines and prepared to take it to a jury trial. In January 2011, the district attorney’s office declined to prosecute and the town dropped the case. A few months later, he opened the permanent storefront that’s still there.

The shop runs seasonally, but the cupcakes ship year-round to people who, having had one, decided one flavor was plenty.
