Animals fear hunters but largely ignore tourists, 30-year study finds

After reviewing three decades of research, scientists found that wild animals are far more alert and feed less when exposed to humans who pose a real threat, such as hunters or fishers. In contrast, tourists and researchers trigger much weaker and less consistent behavioral responses. The findings challenge the idea that humans are universally feared as a "super-predator" by wildlife.
