Medieval knights didn't need cranes — armoured combat relied on skill and technique

The popular image of knights helplessly toppling over in armour and needing cranes to mount their horses is a myth. Historical sources, fencing treatises and modern research all show that medieval warriors were highly trained athletes whose combat relied on precision and technique rather than brute force alone. Heavy swords and plate armour were designed to be used with skill, not to hinder movement.
