ZUS covers full sanatorium stay — who qualifies for free rehabilitation
Poland's Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) can fully cover the cost of a sanatorium stay — including accommodation, meals and treatment — for people at risk of losing their ability to work or requiring post-illness rehabilitation. ZUS also partially reimburses travel costs. A referral is issued by the treating doctor, and a ZUS medical examiner decides whether to approve it based on medical records.
