Undeclared work in Poland: workers risk losing benefits, employers face fines

Working without a contract in Poland is classified as illegal employment and carries serious consequences for both parties. Employees lose entitlement to health insurance, sick pay and pension rights, and are unprotected in case of a workplace accident. Employers face heavy fines from the National Labour Inspectorate and the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).
