Czerwińsk nad Wisłą: the Mazovian pearl where Jagiełło set off for Grunwald

Czerwińsk nad Wisłą, located about 80 km from Warsaw, is known for its Romanesque Salesian abbey dating to the 11th century, which shaped the town's entire history. It was from Czerwińsk that King Władysław Jagiełło departed in 1410 for the Battle of Grunwald. Despite devastation during the Swedish Deluge, the town retains a distinguished atmosphere and is called the "pearl of Mazovia".
