Tiny silica nanoparticles wiped out aggressive prostate cancer in mice
Silica nanoparticles engineered to target prostate cancer cells caused them to self-destruct and boosted the immune system in preclinical mouse studies. Combined with immunotherapy, the treatment achieved complete remissions in multiple mice. The results raise hopes for a powerful new approach to treating prostate cancer in humans.
