Harvard scientists turn silicon chip into a DNA-writing machine
Harvard scientists have created a silicon chip capable of simultaneously writing dozens of DNA sequences using electricity and water-based enzymes, offering a cleaner alternative to conventional DNA manufacturing methods. The breakthrough could eventually enable portable DNA-writing devices and massive DNA-based data storage. However, new chemistry will be needed to scale the technology further.
