Diet and Gut Microbiome Shape Immunotherapy Efficacy in Obesity

A Nature study shows that diet shapes how obese organisms respond to immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy through gut microbial metabolism and host anti-tumour immunity. The findings were confirmed using custom mouse diet models and human-to-mouse fecal microbiota transplantation experiments. The results suggest that dietary modification could improve cancer immunotherapy outcomes in obese patients.
