FDA rejects petition to set PFAS limits in food despite EPA findings on exposure risk
The US Food and Drug Administration has rejected a legal petition demanding limits on toxic PFAS "forever chemicals" in food. The decision comes despite the EPA finding that food is the biggest source of PFAS exposure, and independent studies showing a single serving of some contaminated foods can contain as much PFAS as drinking many glasses of contaminated water.
