Podiatrist Recommends Orthopaedic Sandals Over Flip-Flops and Flats This Summer

A podiatrist warns against wearing flat ballet pumps, soft canvas trainers and flip-flops, which lack the structural support needed to protect feet and can cause muscle overload and inflammation. High heels are also harmful, concentrating body weight on the forefoot and forcing an unnatural posture. The specialist recommends footwear with good arch support, a cushioning sole and adjustable straps — ideally orthopaedic sandals.
