German Doctors Slam Plan Requiring Sick Notes from Day One of Illness
Germany is embroiled in a dispute over a plan that would require workers to obtain a sick note from a doctor on the very first day of illness. A doctors' group described as "bordering on madness" the requirement for patients to attend in person just to get the note. Currently, German employees can stay home sick for several days without providing documentation.
