Qualcomm's High Bandwidth Compute Stacks LPDDR to Replace HBM4 in AI Workloads

Qualcomm has unveiled its High Bandwidth Compute (HBC) memory architecture, which stacks LPDDR memory layers in 3D directly above the CPU to replace conventional HBM4 modules in AI workloads. The solution supports up to 768 GB of stacked memory, delivers high bandwidth and improved power efficiency, and is designed to eliminate the so-called "HBM tax." The move signals Qualcomm's renewed ambitions in the data centre market.
