Low vitamin C levels linked to less grey matter and weaker brain networks in older adults

A study of more than 2,000 older adults in Japan found that those with lower blood levels of vitamin C had less grey matter in the brain and weaker connections in a key network linked to memory, attention and cognitive function. The findings suggest vitamin C may play an important role in supporting brain health as people age. Researchers note the study is observational and does not prove causation.
