U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker confirmed Wednesday that President Donald Trump remains committed to Poland's security and intends to send an additional 5,000 U.S. troops there, though the details have not yet been finalised. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said he is "absolutely certain" the United States would come to Europe's aid in the event of an attack. Whitaker stressed that "the president expressed a clear intention" and that his words would be followed through.
