Venezuela Declares State of Emergency After Earthquakes Destroy Caracas Airport
Venezuela has declared a state of emergency after two back-to-back earthquakes caused widespread destruction in Caracas, toppling buildings, knocking down power lines and devastating the capital's main airport. The 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude quakes struck less than a minute apart. Rescue operations are underway as the country faces what may be its worst natural disaster since 1900.
