Volcanic Magma Forms Eerie CO₂ Domes up to 5 Metres Tall on Seafloor
Carbon dioxide bubbling up from underground volcanic material can solidify into dome-shaped formations up to five metres tall on the ocean floor. The finding was published in Nature on 24 June 2026. The discovery offers new insight into geological processes occurring beneath the seabed.
