Gay Nigerian reverend: 'Hunted' documentary on LGBTQ+ persecution demands action
Jide Macaulay, a gay Nigerian reverend who has personally faced persecution, is calling for attention to Bel Trew's new documentary "Hunted," which focuses on the persecution of LGBTQ+ people. Macaulay, who has spent much of his life supporting vulnerable LGBTQ+ communities in Nigeria, says the film's message demands to be heard and acted upon. He draws on his own experience of persecution to argue that inaction is not an option.
