Germany May Scrap F126 Frigate Programme Over Runaway Costs, Eye MEKO Ships
Germany is considering abandoning its F126 frigate programme for the Bundesmarine after costs spiralled out of control. Berlin is weighing up ordering the cheaper MEKO-class vessels as an alternative that would still meet the country's NATO commitments. The F126 programme was one of the largest naval armament investments in German history.
