Tax Proceedings Banned if Launched Over Six Months After Audit Ends
Under Polish law, initiating tax or customs proceedings related to the same matter is prohibited more than six months after an audit concludes, even if different authorities are involved. The rule is designed to prevent procedural guarantees for taxpayers from becoming meaningless in practice. The principle applies to both tax offices and customs-fiscal authorities.
