Messi becomes World Cup's all-time top scorer, Mbappé close behind
Lionel Messi has broken the all-time FIFA World Cup scoring record, surpassing every previous top scorer in the competition's history. France's Kylian Mbappé is close behind, while Norway's Erling Haaland scored a brace against Senegal. England's Harry Kane, who was the 2018 World Cup top scorer, also netted twice in his tournament opener.
