Dutch PM Jetten Apologizes for Mistreatment of Moluccan Soldiers After WWII
Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten has issued a formal apology for the historical mistreatment of Moluccan soldiers who served in the Dutch colonial army. The acknowledgment forms part of a broader national reckoning with the Netherlands' colonial past. Moluccan soldiers were marginalized and abandoned after the dissolution of the Dutch East Indies in 1949.
