Rivian CEO: Carmakers ignoring EVs risk falling 'woefully behind' by decade's end
RJ Scaringe, founder and CEO of Amazon-backed electric carmaker Rivian, warns that companies still focused on fossil fuel engines risk being "woefully behind" on technology by the end of the decade. He says the auto industry has reached a "fork in the road" between chasing short-term profits and making the heavy investments — particularly in software — needed to remain competitive. Without those investments, Scaringe argues, traditional carmakers may not survive.
