China's solar capacity surpasses coal for the first time in history
China's National Energy Administration confirmed that installed solar photovoltaic capacity in the country now exceeds coal-fired power plant capacity, marking a historic milestone. Solar panels have become the leading energy infrastructure in China by installed capacity. However, actual electricity generation from solar remains significantly lower than from coal, which still dominates real output.
