Cuba hit by E. coli and Shigella wave amid power and water shortages

Cuba is grappling with a severe sanitation crisis driven by chronic electricity and clean-water shortages. Havana and other major cities are seeing a sharp rise in patients suffering from fever, vomiting and diarrhoea caused by E. coli and Shigella bacteria. Rubbish is piling up on streets and basic medicines are in short supply, opposition media and diplomats warn.
