Appalachian lithium deposit of 2.3M tonnes could end US imports for 328 years

American geologists have discovered lithium deposits in the Appalachian Mountains estimated at 2.3 million tonnes, enough to replace current US imports for 328 years. The find comes as the US seeks alternatives to China's dominance of the global lithium market. However, exploitation of the deposits is subject to technical and environmental conditions.
