US Air Force targets $10 million unit price for MQ-9 Reaper successor drone

The US Air Force is targeting a unit price of approximately $10 million — excluding sensors — for the Massed Modular Aircraft (MMA), the planned successor to the MQ-9A Reaper, which currently costs between $30 million and $50 million fully equipped. The programme is being accelerated following what the Air Force calls "concerning" Reaper losses during recent operations against Iran. Lt. Gen. Christopher Niemi said the MMA price should be "closer to half" that of the Collaborative Combat Aircraft, itself targeted at around $20 million.
