Witkoff reluctant to visit Kyiv — alternative plan being worked out

US President Donald Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner had planned visits to Moscow and Kyiv on 5–6 September, but Witkoff reportedly "got scared" of travelling to Kyiv, triggering discussions about alternative arrangements, according to the Kyiv Independent citing a source familiar with the matter. It remains unclear whether and when the visit will take place.
