Polish parliament allows VAT taxpayer status to be checked up to 5 years back

Poland's Sejm passed Senate amendments to a tax law that will allow businesses to verify a counterpart's VAT taxpayer status for up to five years retroactively. The new regulations also enable electronic customs clearance through IT tools provided by the National Revenue Administration. The changes are designed to improve tax oversight and the security of commercial transactions.
