Open water spotted 60 km from North Pole in NASA satellite image

A NASA satellite image from August 29 shows large patches of open water just 60 kilometers from the North Pole. Prof. Julienne Stroeve of University College London said that while open water near the Pole has been seen before, it has never been this extensive. Experts say the image is a stark illustration of how severely climate change is affecting the Arctic region.
