Sensor-equipped narwhals reveal warm Atlantic water in Greenland's fjords
Researchers from the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources fitted six narwhals with satellite sensors measuring temperature, salinity and depth. The study, conducted in the Kangertittivaq fjord system on Greenland's east coast — the world's largest such system — revealed the presence of warm Atlantic water in areas inaccessible to ships and human researchers. The findings were published in the journal Science Advances.
